Single Ply roofing

While single ply roofing materials are most commonly used for commercial flat roof applications, it’s also a great option for homes with low slope or flat roofs. It’s durability and ability to guard against standing water set it apart from other options. TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) is our most commonly used single ply material, followed by PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for specific applications. These materials offer a highly reflective surface for optimized energy efficiency. The vast majority of these projects use white material. For applications where looks are important, specialty colors are available such as tan, gray, and bronze.

Typically, at minimum, one layer of DensDeck insulation board is installed onto the wood sheathing before the membrane material. This ensures a smooth installation surface and prevents potential issues that could damage the roofing material. For most commercial applications, additional insulation is required as part of a roof replacement project in order to comply with updated building codes. WE typically recommend ISO foam insulation board installed directly to the roof sheathing.

Single ply Installation

Single ply roofing material comes in large rolls. Seams are typically fastened with hardware, and material is manually welded along each seam.
