Concrete tile roofing

Concrete tile roofing is one of the most popular roofing materials in the greater Sacramento area. Most homes built in the 1990s and 2000s were built with standard weight concrete roofing tiles. Tile is a viable roofing option in our area, but it does require regular checkups and maintenance. The most common issues with concrete roofing tile are broken tiles and debris buildup. Tiles can break for any number of reasons such as tree branch impacts or your home shifting and settling. Broken tiles can allow rainwater and debris to be directed under the tile surface and onto the underlayment beneath, which can cause leaks. If left unrepaired, the underlayment can break down in these areas, causing even larger problems. Homes with trees nearby can accumulate tree and leaf debris built up under the tiles, which can create leak issues and degradation to the waterproof underlayment layer underneath.
